New! and FREE! Weekly Good Vibrations sessions at the Southbank Centre
From mid-January will be running weekly Good Vibrations sessions for ex-Good Vibrations participants and others who want to take part. They will be on Monday evenings, 7-9pm at the Southbank Centre. As well as learning about gamelan, participants will learn about music technology, recording, group composition, free improvisation, and group facilitation skills. The sessions are free to attend and open to anyone referred to us as being suitable:
– is an ex-prisoner – or has an “offending background” or is at risk of “offending” or is interested in working with prisoners and ex-prisoners
– is age 18+
– has an interest in developing their musical or group facilitation skills
– is keen to come along and give it a go!
No previous musical experience is necessary, nor are any reading, writing or numeracy skills. For those who are interested, there will be the chance to obtain Open College Network credits, by attaining a Music Ensemble Skills Level 2 qualification. We will reimburse people’s travel costs if they are unwaged. Email malcolm@good-vibrations.org.uk or call him on 07922 607 815.
