Julian Winship
Julian works as a barrister in the field of criminal law, at Furnival Chambers, a renowned and long-established set of chambers aiming to give a voice to those facing every type of criminal charge. He defends and prosecutes cases, in equal measure, and he is on the Crown Prosecution Service Advocates’ Panel at grade 4, the highest grade. He has an interest and background in mentoring and training those seeking to pursue a career at the Bar.
Until recently, he was a school governor, chairing the governing body of an Inner London primary school for 10 years from 2012 until 2022.
Outside work, he has an enduring interest in music and the visual arts. He plays the drums and percussion in bands, and he is an avid music and film fan, regularly attending gigs, music and film festivals. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
