Katy Haigh

Katy has been Good Vibrations’ Executive Director since 2014 and is proud to be leading such an impactful and dynamic organisation. She is an active member of the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance and sits on the Small Charities Coalition’s Small Charities and Small Businesses Working Group.

From 2012-14 Katy was Development Manager for Inanna, an Australian charity supporting people affected by mental illness and trauma. From 2007-12, she was a music project manager and then Deputy Chief Executive at Vital Regeneration, an education charity in London. From 2005-07, she was Communications Advisor at the Ministry of Education in New Zealand, and from 2002-05, a Music, and Sex and Relationships Education Teacher at Claremont High School in London.

Katy first fell in love with gamelan and world music between 1998 and 2001, whilst she was studying music at The University of York under Neil Sorrell. She sees gamelan coupled with Good Vibrations’ facilitative approach, as an amazing way of connecting with people and supporting them to develop confidence, communication skills and self-awareness.

Katy lives in Cumbria, has a young family and dog, and loves painting, composing and playing piano.
