Simon Dale

Simon has lived and worked in the North-West all his life. Early roles included social work and community regeneration. For the next 15 years he worked in a Local Authority developing new arrangements for local governance, including local partnerships and community planning. Outside roles have included membership of a local Advisory Committee for Magistrate Recruitment, Trustee of an anti-poverty Charity, Director of a Social Housing Agency, and chair of Governors at a 6th Form College.

Currently, Simon manages Gearing Up social enterprise in Wigan: a busy project that recycles and refurbishes bicycles. In his spare time, when he’s not enjoying fresh air, riding his bike, he is a member of the Independent Monitoring Board at HMP Preston and also a local School Trust. Whilst Simon is not a musician, he’s passionate about discovering and enjoying new music.
