What the research says about our work
We’re delighted to share a recently-published article, summing up the academic research findings on our work to date. Co-written by Professor Laura Caulfield from The University of Wolverhampton and our Executive Director, Katy Haigh, this article was published in the Special Arts Edition of the Prison Service Journal in September 2018.
The effectiveness of our gamelan projects is evidenced through nine pieces of independent research by Birmingham City University, Cambridge University, The University of London, Bath Spa University, The University of Worcester, Nottingham Trent University and The Royal College of Music.
They have investigated the impact our projects have had with the general prison population and on women, older men, young offenders, and men convicted of sexual offences.
