Kate Turner
Kate is Director of Development and Communications at the East End Community Foundation, a grant-maker and philanthropy advisor dedicated to improving lives in the east London boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham. In this role, Kate drives philanthropic and corporate investment to facilitate increased grant-making, and she leads on engaging with the charity’s donor and community audiences.
Previously, Kate was Head of Private Philanthropy at English Heritage, where she led a team securing transformative gifts and building a community of engaged and committed supporters.
Prior to moving into the heritage sector, Kate spent a decade working in higher education fundraising, establishing major philanthropic partnerships with individuals, companies and grant-making bodies at two London universities. Kate began her working life in corporate social responsibility, where she saw at first-hand what can be achieved when companies partner with charities working with marginalised groups.
